Emily does not know it yet, but I am going to surprise her with this homemade felt play mail set for Valentine’s Day! Isn’t it cute? I know, I know, 25 cent postage… those were the days, right?
As a learning tool, the address labels and stamps can be moved around. She can practice placing the stamp on the top right corner to re-enforce left vs. right, and the envelopes can be “sealed” with a button – great practice for fine motor skills. She already knows the words “To”, “For”, “You”, “I”, “Love”, and “Emily”, so this will help her become more familiar with those words as well. I hope she enjoys playing with them as much as I enjoyed making them!

Hi Valerie,
I noticed we are both Financial Bliss contributors. Curious to know if you’d like to list each other’s blogs in our blog roll.

This is such an adorable project. I love the bright colors, and the blanket stitch you used. And to think, it’s educational, too! Great idea.

I tried making fabric postcards for my daughter a year ago. I used regular fabric so I needed to apply velcro and I had a hard time with it. Using felt is brilliant! No need for velcro! Thanks for the great idea.

Hi Valerie, Your linked within featured this older post. So cute! I think the girls will love this. Maybe I'll turn an old box into a mailbox for them. We are mail crazy over here! Lu can't wait to get a letter soon. The waiting is always the hardest part.

What a cute idea. I'm going to make 2 envelopes for my 5 year old daughter so we can write notes back and forth to each other.
Wouldn't it be fun to find this cute envelope on your pillow with a sweet letter inside?
