Cuteness Alert: This may be the cutest little pencil case ever, and there’s no sewing involved! Emily is making a few more of these for some of her friends to take to school. To make your own super-cute pencil case, you will need two sheets of craft foam (5″ x 7″) and (3″ x 7″), some colored duct tape, self-adhesive velcro tabs, a hole puncher, and some ribbon.
Line up the pieces of craft foam. The larger piece will fold over to form the flap. Secure the edges of the pencil case with colored duct tape. Trim any excess tape.
I used a hole puncher to make 4 evenly spaced holes across the top flap to thread the ribbon through.
Here’s a close up of the inside showing how I secured the ribbon with a little more duct tape.
Emily couldn’t wait to start drawing, so she filled up her case before I could even attach the velcro tabs!
Attach the velcro, and it’s all done!

Dear Valerie,
It's a good thing that we don't have boys. That's an awfully girly pencil case.
Love Mark

That is by far the cutest pencil case I have ever seen. My daughter will LOVE it!!!!!!!
Do you have a boy version? Mark is right, and my son would not be happy if I made him that.

@ Christy — For a boy's version, I would leave off the ribbon, and instead decorate with stripes using some colored duct tape. Extra bonus points if you use reflective tape!! That would be so cool!!!

LOL… I'm laughing at Mark's comment. That is the cutest case ever.

Actually I was thinking it looked kind of masculine! Ha, good thing I have girls because I guess I don't know girly when I see it. I know there's a bow but had there not been one it would be good for a boy, right?
Anyway, love this. I happen to have some hot pink duct tape left from our Mother's Day Tea Party hats so I think I'll be looking into make some of these!

@ Katie — Emily would have killed for some hot pink duct tape for this project! If you make one, I would LOVE to see a photo of it. I'm sure ER would love it!!

Very cute, duct tape is awesome. We "need" to buy some of the colored stuff – we just have plain old silver.

Seriously no sewing? I want to make that it's so cute. I even have that same ribbon. Dollar section target right? I can't wait to make the drawstring bags. I have my fabric ready and waiting!!
