This sweet kitty cat was a late night sewing project I made using this free pattern found on Wee Wonderfuls, and I wish you could have seen the look on Emily’s face when she first saw him! She immediately named him “Butter”, and they have been enjoying many adventures together this morning.
Butter’s made from a vintage pillowcase, some felt, stuffing, and 2 buttons for eyes. I even attached a little jingle collar, so Emily will be able to keep track of him, should he wander off on his own. The pattern only calls for 1/4 yard of fabric, so it’s a good way to use up scraps. Val in the Rose Garden might recognize this fabric, since it came as part of this wonderful surprise package she mailed us. (Thanks, Val!)
Butter is so brave! Sometimes he climbs the back of the sofa and pretends to be a mountain lion!
Meow!!

Butter is so cute!
I am embarrassed to admit that when I quickly read the title of the post and saw the picture on my blogger dashboard I thought you had sculpted a cat OUT of butter! I did a double take. I guess, I wouldn't be all that surprised if you did make a butter sculpture.
Your talents are limitless.

@ Mark — Your pillow almost always ends up cold and naked. But pillowcases can be made into so many things!
@ Mama King — Hahahahahhahahahaha!!!!

That is too stinkin' cute! How do you find the time?! And how in the world did I miss the post about your gift from Val in the Rose Garden. Her gift was super sweet!

Butter is adorable! I still have my favorite yellow flowered pillowcase from my childhood. It would make a lovely "Butter" too!

1) I SO can't wait to give my nieces their gifts that I've been making. The quiet family for the littlest is turning out to be way more fun than I though! So I'm cracking up that you make stuff and just give it to Emily instead of waiting. :>)
2) I've been having a craft fantasy or two of my own and I laugh at myself and think of you every time.

So cute! You did a great job.
And Mark, it was my pleasure to supply that pillow case.
I wasn't using it anymore.
Tehehe… looks much better as a cat anyway.

You make so many toys for your daughters. I'm wondering about your organization methods. Maybe you can blog that one day. From the photos you post, your home looks very tidy, not a bit cluttered. How do you manage that?
