Clara will take just about any excuse to play with stickers, so this Valentine craft was a big hit with her! I cut a sheet of paper into a heart, and invited her over to place color coding labels on top. Fun!!

Extra bonus points for crafting in a fluffy purple princess dress — oh my!!

When she had arranged the labels the way she liked, I cut up some of the labels into quarters to make the wrappers for the candies. Super quick and easy!

To find color coding labels on the cheap, try the dollar store, or the office supply section at Target. We love to keep some on-hand for lots of last-minute no-mess crafts!

Have fun!!

  1. Dear Valerie,

For once she’s not crafting in her pajamas!

Wait. Those are her jammies under that dress. Sneaky!

    Love,
    Mark

  2. Very cute and easy! Our office supply stickers seem to be covering all of my 2 year old’s toys. I wonder how that happened?

  3. Can I just say how much I love her dress!

    Very cute valentines!

  4. So I was in the office supply aisle at Wal-mart today, eyeing the color coding labels, but I didn’t buy them because they cost 2 whole dollars (imagine!). I guess I’ll have to go back–Ava would love this one!
P.S. Caleb often crafts in his PJs as well–he’s just too busy to get dressed 🙂

  5. Heck we often have whole school days in our jammies.

My labels are lost right now. I need to get organized.

  6. Very cute! I think your color coding label crafts are my favorites. Now I just need to actually BUY color coding labels one of these days!

    • Thanks, Maryanne! Yes, you need to get some! Mark and the girls each gifted me with a pack of color coding labels for my birthday last year. We seem to have a never-ending supply now! 🙂

  7. Those candies look good enough to eat. Great and simple craft!

  8. But wait! Where’s the REAL candy? :0)

  9. Our color coding labels are not nearly as pretty as yours. Need to get a bright neon pkg.

Adding it to the never ending list.

  10. So cute!!

  11. Very cute. Great idea for Daddy’s birthday next week from my youngest. Yay!

  12. You come up with the most creative uses for colored labels ever.

  13. That came out so cute!

  14. Hi, very new here but am already loving it.. Am not a crafty mom and your tutorials and photos are making my life a lot easier. I have a toddler who’d love this, so am definitely gonna try this as well as a few others with her.. Thanks for creating such a fun place for us, non-crafters:-)
